Actually, if you see the medal of Paramvir Chakra, there are four replicas of Indra’s thunderbolt on its front. Actually, the Param Vir Chakra medal was designed by Savitri Bai Khanolkar. Paramveer Chakra was made in the form of a circular shape of bronze metal with a diameter of 3.5 cm. Four symbols of thunderbolt were made around it. In the middle of the medal, the national emblem Chakra taken from Ashoka’s lot was also engraved. On the other side of the Paramvir Chakra, a lotus symbol was made, in which Paramvir Chakra was written in Hindi and English.
What is the Vajra symbol
Savitri Bai Khanolkar had taken inspiration from sage Dadhichi for the Vajra symbol engraved on the Paramvir Chakra. If you do not know about Vajra, then let us tell you that according to the National War Memorial, Rishi Dadhichi asked the gods to donate his bones to kill Vritrasura. After which he sacrificed his body to save the world and from the bones of sage Dadhichi, Lord Vishwakarma created the weapons of the gods including Indra’s thunderbolt. Due to which Vritrasur’s body was shattered like sand. In this way, the story of sacrifice and dedication of Rishi Dadhichi is visible in this Vajra and also its strength.
