Two Way Mirror: We get to see many types of glass around us. Some glasses are colored and designed, while some glasses are transparent, which are used to make household utensils, bottles, window glasses, etc. Mirror or mirror is also made from this glass only.
The mirror is also of two types, the first is the same traditional mirror which we have been seeing since the beginning. This is called one way mirror. The same mirror remains in our homes as well. The second type of mirror is called a two-way mirror, it works as a mirror by showing you your face from one side, while on the other side it looks like a normal glass. It can be seen across from the other side. Let’s know how this mirror is different from one way mirror and how it is shown from one side to the other?
How is a mirror made?
A large glass is transported to the conveyor belt with the help of a robotic system by lying down. After this, this glass is cleaned with water, hot water or oxide etc. After this, the glass is first coated with liquefied tin. For this reason, silver easily sticks to glass. Then silver is plated on it in liquid form with some chemicals. After this, to increase the age of glass, double coating of copper etc. is done on it. Then the mirror is kept in the dryer at 31 degree Celsius temperature. Then a paint is applied on the back side and it is dried through machines.

What is two way mirror?
A two-way mirror is a piece of glass on which a coating of a substance called a micro pen is applied. If you stand in front of this mirror on the treated side, you can see your reflection in it. Whereas, the untreated side is like a tinted window. A typical mirror is a quarter-inch (6 mm) thick layer of glass. This is followed by a silver layer which is about 2 microns thick and is followed by a black colour. The outside light goes into the glass and gets reflected back.
Identifying a Two Way Mirror
Nowadays these mirrors are being misused in places like malls or hotels. There were many such cases in which two way mirrors were caught in trial rooms or hotel rooms. In such a situation, you can find out by doing some tests whether the mirror you are standing in front of is a two-way mirror or not.
finger test
For this keep your finger on the mirror. If there is a gap between your finger and its image, then the mirror is correct. But, if your finger and its image are touching each other, then immediately understand that it is a two-way mirror.
flash light test
If you look at the normal mirror by lighting the flash light of the mobile, then the light will be reflected. But, if you flash on the ‘two way mirror’, you can see through it as well.
knock-knock test
If there is a normal thumping sound on knocking on the mirror, then the mirror is fine, but if there is even a slight echo in the sound, then understand that you need to be alert.
take a closer look in the mirror
Sometimes, on looking very closely, it is also visible across the ‘two way mirror’. In such a situation, if you see something on the other side of the mirror installed in the trial room, then understand that you are trapped in some conspiracy and be alert immediately.
