Three women reportedly contracted HIV after getting vampire facials at a spa in New Mexico.
What is vampire facial?
According to the report of NDTV, this is the first case of HIV that has come to light during the cosmetic injection process. First of all, blood is drawn from the face of the person undergoing vampire facial through injection and then platelets are extracted from that blood and injected again on the face. This process is considered to be the most economical option to look younger. Vampire increases the process of repairing facial tissue, which makes the face look young again.

According to Allure magazine, according to Dr. Ava Shamban, a skin expert in Beverly Hills, when the blood taken from the face is spun in a machine called a centrifuge, this blood gets divided into three categories. It contains plasma at the top, blood cells in the middle and red blood cells at the bottom. The middle part where there are blood cells is where PRP comes, which is also called serum. This serum helps in recovery of cells. This serum creates collagen and elastin (facial proteins), which keeps the face smooth.
Since the blood of the same person who performs this cosmetic surgery is used in vampire facial, it is considered to be the safest and most effective. It is also claimed that vampire facials can improve skin texture, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
According to Dr. Kim Nichols, dermatologist and founder of NicholsMD, the Vampire Facial involves a minimum of six PRP injection surgeries, spaced about four weeks apart.
