WhatsApp Down in India: Popular messaging app WhatsApp went down for many users around the world on Wednesday night at around 11.45 pm. As soon as WhatsApp was down, there was a flood of memes on social media.
Users filed complaint
In March 2024, Instagram, Facebook and Threads were suddenly down for many users, who complained of suddenly being logged out of their accounts. Many users reported that they were logged out without the option to log back in. This problem occurred on both the app and the website.
According to the report of Hindustan Times, DownDetector, a website which keeps an eye on outages, has noted the reports of more than 17 thousand Indian users regarding the problem in WhatsApp.
What did WhatsApp say?
According to the report, WhatsApp issued a statement saying, “We know that some people are still facing problems. We are working to fix things 100 percent for everyone as soon as possible.”
WhatsApp down in foreign countries too
According to the report, along with India, people of other countries also faced the problem of WhatsApp. More than 67 thousand users in the United Kingdom (UK) and more than 95 thousand users in Brazil reported problems in WhatsApp.
As soon as WhatsApp was down, #whatsappdpwn started trending on X (earlier Twitter). Many users have also posted different videos and memes.
