WhatsApp Chat Backup: Till now, the users using WhatsApp are getting all the services of WhatsApp absolutely free. WhatsApp is the world’s most popular and most used messaging platform, hence this app is being used by millions and billions of people around the world. WhatsApp also keeps implementing new changes and new rules in its app to improve the experience of its users day by day.
What is the new rule of WhatsApp?
This time i.e. with the beginning of 2024, WhatsApp has implemented such a rule, after which the user will have to spend money to fully utilize all the services of WhatsApp. Actually, it is very important for WhatsApp users to maintain the history of chats done on WhatsApp. There are many users who keep backups of years old chats done on WhatsApp.
For this, WhatsApp took the help of Google Drive. WhatsApp used to ask users for Google ID for chat backup while logging into WhatsApp. After that the backup of users’ WhatsApp chats is stored in Google Drive. This was an unlimited facility. This means that no matter how much you chat on WhatsApp, the backup of all those chats used to be saved on Google Drive, but now this will not happen.
Free backup of WhatsApp chat will be limited
Now free backup of WhatsApp chat will be limited. In Google Drive, users get free facility of 15GB storage, which is already very less for the users. Because in those 15 GB only, users save their photos, videos, emails and other documents. Now WhatsApp chats will also be stored in the same 15 GB free storage of Google Drive.
If the 15 GB storage in the user’s Google Drive becomes full, then the backup of the user’s WhatsApp chats will not be stored in Google Drive. After that, users will have to increase the storage of Google Drive by taking subscription of Google One so that the backup of WhatsApp chats can be stored in it.
New rule implemented for beta users
Let us tell you that WhatsApp had given this information while officially announcing it, and had said that this rule will be implemented for beta users from December 2023, and then for all Android users till the first 6 months of 2024. The new rule regarding this paid service will be implemented.
