Wheat Export From April To October 2022 Was 46 Lakh Tonnes

According to media reports, 46.56 lakh tonnes of wheat was exported in the April-October period in the current financial year. Its cost is 1.5 billion dollars. Whereas in the year 2021-22, wheat worth $ 2.12 billion was exported. During the first seven months of the year 2022-23, 24.10 lakh tonnes of basmati rice was exported. Its value was 2.54 billion dollars. This information has been given by the Central Government in the Parliament.

Permission given to 186 exporters

In the beginning of this year, the prices of flour started increasing in the country. The reason behind this was the increase in the prices of wheat. The Russia-Ukraine war also had an impact on wheat prices in the country. To control the prices of wheat, the central government had banned the export of wheat. At present, the condition of wheat storage in the country is fine. Food exporters had been pleading with the Central Government for exemption to export wheat for a long time. Keeping in view the situation of food security needs in the country, the Central Government has given permission to send wheat consignment abroad. According to the records of the Central Government, 186 exporters have been allowed to export wheat under the provisions of the Transitional Arrangement under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020 and certain conditions.

The area under wheat in the country is 286 lakh hectares

The weather this year has not been good for the Kharif season. Rain, flood and drought caused a lot of damage to the crop. But now the weather is favorable for wheat sowing. Central government officials say that it rained at the end of the Kharif season. Due to more rains, the amount of moisture in the ground increased. Due to this, wheat sowing has become easy in the country. The farmer is sowing wheat in more area. According to the central government data, the area under wheat cultivation has increased by 3 percent to 286.5 lakh hectares till last week in this rabi season. Central government officials say that wheat production was affected last year due to heat wave. This year it is not visible anywhere.
