Wheat Production Has Increased In 5 States Of India

Paddy production decreased in these 5 states, wheat increased

Whereas in these states, increased area under wheat has been registered. Sowing has been done in 68 lakh hectares in these states this year. This is more than last year.

Wheat sowing area increased by 25 percent
If we look at the current figures, till December 9, the area under wheat sowing in the country has increased by 25 percent as compared to the same period last year. If we look at the area under all rabi crops, 15 percent more sowing has been done as compared to last year. Apart from this, there has also been a boost in the production of pulses, oilseeds and coarse grains. Officials say that in the Kharif season where there was a decline in the production of paddy and other crops. Due to drought, such conditions were created. At the same time, good results of bumper grain production are coming out in the Rabi season.

Wheat will make up for the shortage of paddy
Due to the lack of monsoon, there was a decrease in paddy production in these states. But in the case of wheat this season, these states can compensate. Officials say that paddy needs as much water as it needs. That much wheat is not required. Irrigation can be done with the help of ground water. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, there has been a decline of 4 percent in the yield of Kharif crops in the year 2022-23. On the other hand, in the case of paddy, this decline is up to 6 percent. Overall, the production of all types of Kharif food grains was 150 million tonnes in the year 2022-23, which was 156 million tonnes in the year 2021-22. If we look at the situation of paddy, there has been a decline of 7 million tonnes in the year 2022-23 as compared to the year 2021-22.
