Lawrence Bishnoi was born on February 12, 1993 and was only five years old when Salman Khan’s Chinkara case came into limelight. During that time Salman Khan was shooting for Sooraj Barjatia’s film ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’. Some shooting of the film was also done in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. On the night of 27-28 September, Chinkara was hunted in Ghoda Farm House and Salman Khan was accused of this. After this, again on October 1, black buck hunting took place in Kankani village and some local boys there said that Salman Khan was among those hunting."text-align: justify;">Bishnoi community worships the black buck. Chinkara is a species of deer. This species of deer was hunted by Salman Khan. The Chinkara species of deer has been placed in the Red List by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) because it is becoming extinct. According to ICUN’s 2001 data, there are a total of 80 thousand chinkaras in the Thar Desert area. 

According to the report of The Hindu, 4 separate cases were registered against Salman Khan in the blackbuck hunting case. Two separate cases were registered for hunting of chinkara, two in Bhavad and one in Ghoda Farms. One case was for hunting two black bucks in Kankani and the fourth case was for possessing a rifle and revolver even after the license had expired.

Salman Khan was arrested for the first time in a case on October 12, 1998 and he was released after five days. On February 17, 2006, the CJM court convicted him and sentenced him to one year in prison. However, the High Court granted him bail. In the second case, on April 10, 2006, the CJM court found Salman Khan guilty and sentenced him to five years in prison. At that time he had to stay in jail for 6 days and then he was acquitted by the High Court. The Sessions Court upheld his sentence and he had to remain in jail from August 26 to 31, 2007.

The third case was of Arms Act, in which Salman Khan had already been acquitted. In the fourth and last deer hunting case, Jodhpur court convicted Salman Khan and sentenced him to five years imprisonment. However, he got bail with a bond of Rs 50,000.
