At the same time, the dose of the vaccine is not effective on the virus. Due to this the child gets infected.
The initial symptoms of polio are
The initial symptoms are fever, fatigue, headache, vomiting, stiff neck and pain in the limbs. One in 200 infections leads to irreversible paralysis (usually in the legs). 5-10% of those paralysed die when their breathing muscles become immobilised. Polio mainly affects children under 5 years of age.
