Applying for a job is not easy. When the competition in the job market is becoming very high, people have to work very carefully on the CV so that the companies start giving priority to them in selecting them. But sometimes some mistakes are such that they prove to be very harmful for the applicant. But the boss of a company was very disappointed when he had to reject 177 out of 183 applications due to a small mistake.
Ryan Irving from UK asked some simple questions while seeking applications for a position in his company. The applicants had to send the answers to these questions along with the application. But when Irving saw the answers to these questions, he was very disappointed and had to reject most of the applications.
Irving had invited these applications during the lockdown period imposed during Covid-19. These applications were invited for the internet service company RIWeb in which 183 applications were received. But only 6 people could reach the interview. Irving rejected 177 applications saying that there was no point in hiring people if they did not pay attention to small things.
In this application, instead of CV, six simple questions were asked. But according to Irving, most people could not understand even the simplest instructions. In the application ad, Ryan had said that please read it carefully. But that ed from 177 was not read properly.
The purpose of sharing this incident was to tell people that they should read the advertisement carefully. (Symbolic photo: Canva)
Irving said he doesn’t care if the applicant has four degrees or 20 years of experience, it’s not enough if you can’t follow some simple instructions. When Irving expressed his pain on Linkedin. In which he did not mention that post and those questions but definitely told that in it it was said that a salary of Rs 12 lakh 75 thousand would be given for one year.
But this shocked many people that many applicants were rejected just because they had not read the advertisement properly. At the same time, some people also expressed sympathy towards Irving. But Irving, after many reactions, said that his purpose was to tell people that applicants should apply carefully so that they are not rejected next time.
