Energy department gave three options
The Energy Department has given three options to the farmers to repay the dues. In the first option, 100% interest and late surcharge waiver will be given on repaying the dues, in the second option, if the dues are to be paid in three installments, then 90% interest and late surcharge waiver will be given. Talking about the third option, the dues will have to be paid in 6 installments, in this there will be 80% rebate in interest and surcharge. If a farmer does not clear his dues on time, he will not get the benefit of this exemption. The Uttar Pradesh government has also fixed the limit on consumption of free electricity for irrigation.

To avail the benefits of the scheme, it is necessary for the farmer to be registered on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana or the Transparent Farmers Service Portal. Farmers can apply for this scheme both online and offline. To apply online, you can visit the portal of Uttar Pradesh Jal Jeevan Mission. For registration, Aadhaar card, photo, identity card etc. of the beneficiary is required. Keep in mind that this scheme is applicable only on electricity for irrigation.
