US White House will also not pay
Axios reports that the US White House has also refused to pay for the verification tick. Even the White House will not pay to verify the official Twitter profiles of its employees. White House director of digital strategy Rob Flaherty told staff that “the Twitter blue tick will now only work as if the account user is a paying user.”
