Ramayana is an epic written by Maharishi Valmiki. In which the story of Lord Ram has been described. Due to which Ramayana is called Adi Kavya and Maharishi Valmiki who composed it is called Adi Kavi. It was Valmiki who did the work of bringing Ganga in the form of Ramayana to earth, hence he is also known as Bhagiratha of Ramayana.

Let us tell you that before Valmiki composed the epic Ramayana, it was narrated orally. Which continued to be narrated like this for a long time. In fact, Lord Ram’s sons Luv-Kush memorized this oral poetic composition and kept conveying it to the people for years. Maharishi Valmiki had done the work of transcribing this oral poetry. Therefore he is also known as Bhagiratha of Ramayana. There are 2400 verses, 500 cantos and 7 kandas in Ramayana.
