Caretaker Government Rules: Every day elections are held in India at some level or the other. Recently elections have been held in two states of India, Haryana and Jammu Kashmir. In Jammu and Kashmir, where the alliance of NCP and Congress has got majority. So, BJP government is going to be formed in Haryana for the third consecutive time. In India, after the election results are declared, the party has to prove majority.
After this the day of the swearing in ceremony is decided. After this a new government is formed. Then the power of the state is handed over to the new government. Many people often have a question in their mind that who runs the government of the state after the election results and before the swearing-in? Let us tell you.
The caretaker government has the responsibility
When the elections end. And one party gets a clear majority. Or some alliance gets majority. Then the Governor of the state takes a call to form a new government. The swearing in ceremony of the new government takes place on that day. In which the Chief Minister and other ministers take oath. This question comes in the mind of many people that who runs the government in the state from the time the election results are announced till the swearing-in ceremony.

Because many times after elections the new party also gets majority. The party already running the government goes out of power. But let us tell you that whatever be the results of the elections, during this period, the same government which is already running the government runs the government in the state. This period is called the tenure of the caretaker government.

What is a caretaker government?
Caretaker government is also called caretaker government. Who takes over the responsibility of governance in the state before the swearing in of the new government after the elections. It is formed when the tenure of the current government has completed but the new government has not been formed yet.
The period of this government lasts only until the new assembly and the new government are formed. This government has the authority to take decisions only regarding administrative and important works. This government cannot take major policy decisions.
