Indian Currency Coins: Coins have been used as currency since the beginning. However, there was a change in the currency of the time and notes started being made, but even then the coins did not stop. Indian currency coins have also changed a lot since independence. Coins of different denominations were issued in the country and necessary changes were also made from time to time. In the last few years, a lot has been seen in the design of coins. A similar change took place in the Rs 2 coin as well and the new design coin was launched in the market. In these designs, the design made on coins of 2 and 10 rupees was the subject of much discussion. Even though you have used these coins a lot, but you hardly know the story behind them…
How were these 2 and 10 rupee coins
According to a documentary of Epic Channel, the Reserve Bank of India made a new coin of two rupees in the year 2006. The special thing about this coin was that there were some lines on the back side, which were cutting each other. Along with this, four points were also made in it. One such coin was also of 10 rupees, in which the same design was made. RBI said that these four lines represent the sense of unity of four different people. Now the question is why the coins were banned for such a small thing? Let’s know the whole matter first.
why were they closed
Actually, the reason for the closure of these coins was the design made on them. There was a lot of controversy regarding this design, after which such coins had to be stopped. Many people objected to the design that this coin shows the cross of Christianity. Because of this, these coins could not come into circulation much and their making was stopped. A similar design was also used for the Rs 10 coin, which was India’s first bimetallic coin.
