‘Why couldn’t arrangements be made’, CM Naidu reprimands officials after stampede in Tirupati


Tirupati Temple Stampede: 6 people have died due to stampede in Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh. 40 people are injured in the accident. State CM Chandrababu Naidu has reviewed this accident with DGP, TTD EO, District Collector, SP. CM said, “It is very sad to lose the lives of the devotees who had come to see God. I am deeply saddened by this incident in Tirupati.”

CM’s anger on officials

CM Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his displeasure with the officials regarding this accident. He has reprimanded the officials for not implementing precautionary measures. The CM questioned that when it was known that a large number of devotees would come, why could they not make arrangements accordingly.

The CM questioned whether there is no need to be extremely cautious and responsible while performing duty at such places. District officials have given information about the current treatment being given to the injured. CM reviewed the management and security of TTD token counters.

Chandrababu Naidu will go to Tirupati tomorrow

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will go to Tirupati tomorrow i.e. on the morning of 9 January 2025 to meet the injured. The CM has ordered officials to ensure better treatment for the victims to prevent the death toll from increasing.

Chaos broke out at the annual Vaikuntha Darshan ticket counters in Tirupati as Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) started online booking and issuing tickets for Vaikuntha Ekadashi 2025.
