Why Indian Students Study MBBS In Bangladesh: Bangladesh is currently going through a lot of political turmoil. In this environment, there are reports of many Indians being stranded there, out of which a large number are medical students. Why do students from here go to Bangladesh to study MBBS? What is it about the neighboring country that attracts Indian medical students, apart from their own country which is capable in every respect? Let’s find out.
Arrangements for Foreign Medical Students
The first reason is that the educational framework of Bangladesh is very good for India or any other country. According to media reports, about 25 percent of the seats in medical colleges here are reserved for foreign students. This gives students coming from outside a good environment and place to study here.
Studying at a low cost
Looking at the number of medical seats in the country and the total number of candidates, many students are unable to get admission here. Especially for those students who do not get admission in government institutes, it is often difficult for them to pay the fees of private institutes. In the government colleges here, education is provided at the rate of Rs 10 thousand to 1.7 lakh per annum.
If we talk about private institutes, it can be between 10 to 28 lakhs per year. In such a situation, candidates find it cheaper to go to Bangladesh. The total cost of completing medical studies in Bangladesh comes to around 25 lakhs. In such a situation, Indian students find it cheaper and better to go to Bangladesh.
The institutes are recognized
Not only can MBBS be done at low cost from medical institutes in Bangladesh, but the institutes here are also recognized by WHO and MCI. Due to this, there is no question on the validity of the degree and candidates can study from here comfortably without any worry.
They also turn to these countries
There is competition between about 42 students for one seat in a government medical college in the country. This competition is a little less in private colleges, but then paying the fees here is not everyone’s cup of tea. After not getting a seat in these two places or not being able to afford many places, candidates turn to other countries. These include Bangladesh, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Philippines.
There are other reasons too
Apart from these reasons, similarity in culture with Bangladesh, short distance between the two places, less cost of travel are also some of the reasons due to which medical students of India go to Bangladesh.
