Silav Cluster building was also constructed at a cost of about 1.14 crores. But till now neither the machine for packaging Khaja could come nor the people associated with this industry could be encouraged. Till now everything is going on as before. To be honest, the situation is like this because of the laziness of the officials. The building built at a cost of crores has been lying idle for many years.
The whole world is crazy about Silav’s food. No matter which country the tourists are from, they do not forget to take food from Silav. The surprising thing is that even foreign tourists who do not know Hindi can speak the word Khaja properly. Perhaps this is the wonder of the sweetness of Khaja. About a year ago, the Divisional Commissioner ordered the Khaja cluster to be started immediately. He also expressed deep displeasure over the non-use of the building. More than a year is about to pass since the order. But the cluster could not start.

Why couldn’t this building start?
The building of Khaja cluster is ready but there is a dispute regarding some of its vacant parts. It was approved in the year 2014-15 that production will be started in three years. Let us tell you that Silav’s Khaja is the first sweet of Bihar, which has got GI tag from the Government of India. There are dozens of khaja shops in Silav Bazaar where lakhs are sold every day. Food business provides employment to hundreds of people and their families thrive.

Khaja is made of three types, in which it is sweet, salty and plain. The highest demand is from America, London and Dubai. Up to 6000 kg is eaten abroad. In other countries, it goes according to the currency there. Here ghee is available for 900 rupees and plain for 200 rupees. Along with this, the Khaja of Bihar will also be available from the Khadi Village Industries of Patna because the tie-up has been done.
