Why We Feel Sleepy In Winter: In the winter season, everyone becomes friends with a quilt, no matter how determined they are. What is melatonin?

Melatonin is a hormone of the body, which comes out of the pineal gland in the body. This hormone itself causes more sleep in winter. Pineal gland is in the brain. When this hormone called melatonin is released, then we start feeling sleepy.

What is the remedy?

Lack of exercise, unhealthy eating habits, poor lifestyle, lack of sunlight, weak immunity and diseases like cold and flu are also some of the reasons for excessive sleepiness in winter. All these factors can affect your sleep in cold weather. However, to avoid this situation, you can take care of some things, such as-

1. Try to get sunlight during day time.

2. Exercise daily for 15-30 minutes.

3. Avoid sleeping during the day and keep yourself busy in day to day activities.

4. Maintain room temperature properly. The bedroom should neither be too hot nor too cold.

5. Do not eat too much food, especially in winter avoid eating more in dinner.
