A woman who was badly burnt in a fire in Bareilly died. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Her parents, who came from Hardoi, accused the married woman’s husband and in-laws of killing her by burning her to death due to her not having a child. Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
Rajeshwar Singh, resident of Majla police station of Hardoi district, told that his niece Ruby was married to Ritesh Singh, resident of village Benipur of Bithri Chainpur police station of Bareilly on June 5, 2015. The son-in-law runs a public convenience centre. Even after 10 years of marriage, Ruby did not have any children.
Used to taunt about being infertile
It was alleged that her husband used to harass Ruby by taunting her about being infertile if she did not have a child. He used to talk about beating me and throwing me out of the house. For this reason, husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law together killed Ruby by setting her on fire. For show, he was admitted to the hospital.
He died during treatment on Wednesday. When the parents got the information, they reached the hospital. Ruby’s dead body was found lying there. The in-laws had absconded. Police reached the spot after getting information and sent the body for post-mortem. After taking the complaint, the police have started investigating the matter.
