According to the information received regarding the incident, a speeding truck coming from Dalsinghsarai suddenly entered a shop named Shanti Sweets and Chaat House located at Smarak Chowk. In this incident, Meena Devi (55), wife of shop operator Ramchandra Sah, resident of Vidyapatidham, died on the spot, while three female customers were seriously injured. All the injured are being treated at the primary health centre.

Local people told that in this incident, Meena Devi died tragically on the spot in the shop. Here, as soon as information about the incident was received, the police arrived under the leadership of Police Station Officer Firoz Alam, seized truck number HR 69 A 1513 and took into custody the driver Amarjeet Kumar, resident of Vikrampur Bande, resident of Mofussil police station area. After the incident, angry people blocked the Dalsinghsarai-Bajrangi Chowk road near Smarak Chowk by setting fire to it, demanding compensation.

The driver told the police during interrogation that he was going to the store under construction on NH 122B in Sahit Vrindavan with cement from Rank Point in Karpoori village. During this time, this incident happened due to sudden brake failure.
