On October 19, a woman from the town gave birth to a child suffering from a rare genetic disorder (Harlequin Ichthyosis) in a private hospital in Shishgarh town of Bareilly. The child, born through normal delivery, died during treatment in Delhi the next evening.

The child’s father told that when his wife was suffering from labor pain, he had taken her to a private hospital in the town. On October 19, at nine in the morning, the wife gave birth to a strange child. His eyes were big. The body was completely white. The skin was also torn at many places. There were teeth in the mouth since birth. He was making different types of sounds. The family members were surprised to see the child.

The doctor told that such children are called Harlequin babies. He advised to take him to Delhi. Immediately the family left for AIIMS Delhi with the child. The child died the next day at around eight o’clock in the evening. Returning to Shishgarh, the family buried the child’s body. There were various discussions in the town regarding the birth of a strange child.
