WPL Auction 2023: The auction of the Women’s Premier League is going on. Smriti Mandhana has got the biggest bid till date. Royal Challengers Bangalore made a bid of Rs 3.4 crore on him and included him in his team. Apart from Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians and UP Warriors have also bought more than one player so far. Alana King and Atapattu remain unsold
Alana King, Australia’s star spinner and currently considered the best female spinner in the world, was not attacked by any franchise in the Women’s Premier. It was being speculated that all the franchisees could bid big on King, but this did not happen and they could not find any buyer.
Apart from Alana, Sri Lanka’s experienced explosive batsman Chamari Atapattu also did not find any buyer. Chamari is considered one of the best T20 women batsmen in the world. Everyone was also hoping that she would be easily sold in the Women’s Premier League, although this did not happen and no franchise bid on her.
