Its opposite effect is being seen on the weather. Climate change is adversely affecting the environment. To understand all these matters, the Climate Justice Library is proving helpful for the youth.

Important documents including more than eight hundred books, journals, magazines and research papers are available here related to environmental issues. People interested in environment, students and researchers are studying here for free. The library has seating for more than 40 people. Researchers along with students are reaching in large numbers to study in this.

30 to 40 people come everyday

Srijani Dutta, a third-year Sociology student of Delhi University’s (DU) Hindu College, and documentary film maker Vijay Sehrawat have come up with this innovation to raise awareness amid efforts at the government and private level to combat climate change.

Datta, the founder of the library, says that she used to discuss environmental issues with friends in the park, but she needed a place where these issues were heard seriously and resolved. He told that there are very few books on environment and that too is not accessible to everyone. In such a situation, he decided to establish a library with friends. She says that being a student, the idea of ​​a library was there but space was not available for it. In which an NGO has helped to provide space. He told that 30 to 40 people come here daily, in which most of the college students and research scholars are involved.

Youth have to be aware

He says that he has a lot of attachment towards the environment. Seminars are also organized in the library from time to time with subject experts on serious environmental issues. He says that if there is awareness among the youth about the environment, then there will be more impact in the campaign to save it. He said that the aim of the library is to create awareness among the youth, students and people about the environment. There are very few books about the environment, due to which efforts are being made to remove its deficiency.

Library started with 70 books

Vijay Sehrawat, associated with the library, says that he makes documentaries based on the environment. He got in trouble for taking the figures several times. Because of this thought to make it. He says that the foundation of the library, which was established last year, was made with 70 books. Now a total of more than 800 books and research papers are available. He explains that anyone can come to the library to study. Opens five days a week from 10 am to 5 pm.
