Researchers at the School of Materials Science and Technology of the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) have developed a new formulation of the traditional Ayurvedic medicine ‘Panchavalkal’.

The stable ‘solution’ and biodegradable ‘patch’ created by the scientists will not only prove useful in any type of wound or incision after operation, but will also play an important role in curing ulcers or wounds of diabetic patients.

This research has been developed in collaboration with Padmashree Professor Manaranjan Sahu, former Dean of the Faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University and renowned anal specialist, who contributed to the clinical trials and the success of these experiments.
