In the year 2024, the Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE has made important amendments in the class 10th and 12th board exams, which include including more aptitude-based questions, bringing in attendance criteria for students and many other rules.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the datesheet of class 10 and 12 board exam 2025. The examinations will start from February 15 next year. Class 10 exams will end on March 18 and Class 12 exams will end on April 4. More than 44 lakh candidates are expected to appear in these examinations to be conducted in India and 26 other countries. The board has earlier announced an important amendment in the format of question papers for this year.
The board exams 2025 for Class 12 will include more aptitude-based questions. These questions will test the practical knowledge of the students. Its purpose is to measure students’ ability to apply theoretical language to practical situations. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Hi-tech security measures planned during examinations
Next year for class 10 and 12 For Strict security measures have been taken to prevent cheating in CBSE board exams. Biometric authentication will be done by taking digital fingerprints, photographs of the candidates and comparing their faces with the scanned photographs during and after the examination. Centre-specific data of roll numbers, photographs and names of all registered candidates will be provided to an agency one to two weeks before the CBSE examination, which will be used by the agency for digital fingerprint/photo capturing and face matching, which will facilitate identification during the examination and Later a strong mechanism will be established for verification of candidates.
CBSE made 75 percent attendance mandatory
CBSE has released the attendance criteria for students preparing for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in 2025. According to this, a minimum of 75 percent attendance of all students is mandatory to be eligible for the board examinations of February 2025.
Attendance can be waived up to 25 percent for students facing specific circumstances such as medical problems, participation in national or international sporting events or other important reasons. For this they will have to submit proper documents. Students with less than 75 percent attendance will not be allowed to appear for CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.
CCTV camera mandatory in examination hall
The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that it will be mandatory to have CCTV cameras at all examination venues for the upcoming class 10th and 12th examinations to be held in 2025. The purpose of this rule is to ensure the integrity and fairness of the examination.
