While talking to Bollywood Bubble, Divyanka said, ‘Stereotypes usually happen when you are playing a lead. Have a female lead. An image is created, people see it that way. Later on, people are not casting you because you have become famous in a particular character. So there was a fear whether people would be able to accept you in some other character or not.
‘I think that one taboo is over now. But the stereotype that the daughter-in-law has to have the character of a daughter-in-law has not been broken. This kept happening to me for a long time. Then I took some projects which were not that close to my heart but just to break the image, I did it and it worked.
