Chhatarpur: Ram devotee, Krishna devotee, Hanuman devotee… all are devotees of Gods and Goddesses. But there is a Ravana devotee in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. This devotee’s devotion to Ravana is famous far and wide. The 80 year old man has built a temple of Dashan Ravana in his house and worships it regularly throughout the year. The old man has installed a big and beautiful statue of Ravana in the temple of his house. This statue of Ravana is in a smiling and blessing posture, with 10 heads.
Ramprasad Ahirwar told Local 18 that after returning from Gaya, Bihar, I got the idea of building a temple of Ravana in the house. This temple was built in the year 2017. He says that he likes Ravana. Whatever he had read or understood about Ravana till now, Ravana was not bad. That is why he was so impressed by Ravana and he decided to build a temple of Ravana in his house and worship him.

Retired teacher Ramprasad says that people worship Lord Kuber, but do not worship his brother Ravana. Everyone is busy burning Ravana. He claims that the day people realize right and wrong, they will stop burning the effigy of Ravana.
Ravana is considered right
According to Ramprasad, Ravana was brave, valiant and intelligent. When Lord Ram cut off the nose of Ravana’s sister Shurpanakha, Ravana could have done the same in return. But, he kept Sita safe at his place.
Ravana was a peace loving king!
Ramprasad was a government teacher by profession. In a few years, his faith in Ravana increased and he installed the statue of Ravana in his temple. His argument about worshiping Ravana is that he was a peace-loving king and in the early days he did not like violence.
