The Yogi government of the state has taken away portfolios from two ministers of Agra, who are in constant dispute, and given them to new ministers. In the cabinet of the state government, along with the Higher Education Minister, IT, Electronics, Science and Technology Minister Yogendra Upadhyay is now left with only the charge of Higher Education Minister. Two of his portfolios have been given to other ministers. Similarly, by removing the prison from Dharamveer Prajapati, he has been allowed to remain only the Civil Defense and Home Guard Minister.
When Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed the portfolios among the new ministers on Tuesday, the stature of the two Agra ministers also reduced. The prison has been taken from Minister of State with Independent Charge Dharamveer Prajapati and given to Dara Singh Chauhan. They are assigned only Home Guards and Civil Defence.
He was made MLC in the year 2021. Even during the last tenure of Yogi government, he was made a minister in the pre-election expansion. At the same time, the Department of Science and Technology held by Yogendra Upadhyay, who was made Cabinet Minister in the second term of the Yogi government, has been given to Anil Kumar. Whereas IT and Electronics have been given to Sunil Sharma.
Yogendra Upadhyay’s name linked to controversies
Yogendra Upadhyay has been in discussions and controversies for one year or the other. Be it the issue of giving a check to Martyr Captain Shubham Gupta or the controversy that took place while giving a check to the family of the deceased in Tila Maithan, in both the cases the issue of insensitivity was raised, now in the Jagdishpura land case also the opponents of the party raised questions on him.
Recently, the suspended principal of Agra College made several allegations against him and complained to the Chief Minister. Following the dispute over land related matters, the charge of IT, Electronics, Science and Technology was removed from him on Tuesday. During his tenure, he could not start the software park of Agra, while the plan of IT park also could not be implemented.
