Although 24 Ekadashi fasts are observed in the whole year and 26 Ekadashi fasts are observed in case of Adhik maas. But the importance of Ekadashi falling in the month of Ashadha increases even more. Because both Ekadashi fast and the month of Ashadha are very dear to Lord Vishnu.
Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Ashad month is called Yogini Ekadashi. Laxminarayan is worshipped on this day. This year Yogini Ekadashi fast will be observed on Tuesday, 02 July 2024.
Let us tell you that on July 2, the auspicious time for worship on Yogini Ekadashi will be from 8:56 am to 2:10 pm. At the same time, Parana (Yogini Ekadashi Paran time) will be done the next day i.e. on July 3, 2024. The time for Parana will be from 05:28 am to 07:10 am.
Yogini Ekadashi comes after Nirjala Ekadashi and before Devshayani Ekadashi (Devshayani Ekadashi 2024). It is believed that fasting on Yogini Ekadashi liberates one from all sins and one gets a place at the feet of Shri Hari after death. It is said that fasting on Yogini Ekadashi gives the same reward as feeding 88 thousand Brahmins.
