Sirohi, Traditional farming is now a thing of the past. Farmers are doing new experiments in this field also. In Sirohi, fruits, flowers, vegetables, grains and spices were grown together on one bigha of land. No chemical fertilizers are used in farming. Along with farming, cottage and dairy industries are also being run here. This place has become so famous that now farmers from far and wide are coming here to take training.

You won’t believe it after hearing this. Even after seeing it, it will be difficult to believe when you will see 16 types of fruits, flowers, spices and vegetables growing together in one place. That too on only one bigha land. This miracle has been done in Sirohi district. There is a place here where 16 different types of crops including fruits, flowers, vegetables, spices have been grown together.

This is a rare and worth seeing place in Abu Road, situated at the foothills of the Aravalli hills. Here, an ideal garden has been created on about 1 bigha of land. True to its name, it is truly ideal for farming. This garden has been prepared by Brahma Kumari Institute for new experiments in farming. A nationwide campaign is being run to change the fortunes of farmers through this garden. The most important thing is that no chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used in this garden.

Training to farmers across the country
Now the discussion about this rare farm has started spreading from the desert state of Rajasthan in the country. Farmers from all over the country are coming here for training. The Agriculture and Rural Development Division of Brahma Kumaris here provides training to the farmers in various types of farming along with dairy farming, cottage industry, pottery industry, beekeeping and manufacturing of agricultural implements.

The aim of this campaign of the institute is to promote organic farming and natural farming in the country. They have to show them new methods of farming. They are also given training in multi-layer farming and drip irrigation. Recently, more than 300 progressive farmers have been given training in three batches by the Uttar Pradesh government. In the Yogik nursery, farmers are taught the methods and techniques of plant preparation using bio-compound method.

Crops of wheat, barley, millet and maize have been planted in this garden. Lentil, linseed and mustard are being grown here in the edible oilseed industry. In future, by setting up an oil plant here, farmers will be given training to extract oil on the spot. Among vegetables, one bed each of broccoli, tomato, chilli, brinjal, spinach, coriander and turnip has been planted. Among the medicinal crops, aloe vera, nigella, satavari, cardamom, ashwagandha have been planted here.
