In a case under the Railway Act in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the lower court had sentenced Firoz Khan to 10 days imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3500. The accused appealed against the order in the Sessions Court. Additional District Judge Sanjay K Lal accepted the appeal and heard the case.
After the hearing, the order passed by the lower court on 8 May 2024 was cancelled. Orders were given to acquit the accused in the Railway Act case. Agra Cantonment Police Station had taken action against Firoz Khan under the Railway Act. The lower court sentenced him to 10 days imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3500. He appealed against the order in the Sessions Court.
The accused’s lawyer said that Firoz had not committed any crime. He had given a statement that he had gone to the railway station with a valid ticket, but his statements were ignored. Despite being innocent, he had to serve seven days in jail.
