In Alipur area on Monday afternoon, bike riding miscreants shot dead Narendra alias Dhilu, a declared scoundrel of the police station. He died on the spot. In the firing, one of his companions, Tarun, was hit by three bullets in his leg. His third companion Amit saved his life by running away from the spot. Narendra was shot more than half a dozen times.

In the initial investigation, the police have come to know that the deceased was a declared scoundrel of Alipur police station and he was in contact with Gogi gang. Police have not ruled out the possibility of gang war. The police suspect the miscreants of Tillu gang of carrying out the crime. Alipur police station has registered a case of murder and attempt to murder.

The deceased Narendra alias Dheelu lived in Dhulia Colony, Alipur and used to drive his Tata Ace (goods carrying vehicle). Injured Tarun also lived in the same area and worked with Narendra.

The police officer said that at around 2 pm, Alipore police station received information about firing in Nehru Enclave, Dayal Market, Alipur, near the Mini Stadium. The police reached the spot and came to know that the deceased was sitting on Tata Ace with his companions. Meanwhile, four miscreants on two bikes reached there and opened fire on them. The miscreants fired more than a dozen bullets. Narendra alias Dhilu was hit by six-seven bullets. He died on the spot.

While the injured Tarun alias Chhola was admitted to Satyawadi Raja Harishchandra Hospital by the police. Investigation revealed that Alipur resident Amit was present with them, who ran away during the firing. The police officer said that criminal cases are registered against the deceased. A case was registered against him for robbery in 2017 and under the Arms Act in 2019. He was a declared scoundrel of Alipur police station. During the investigation, the police found evidence of Narendra’s connection with the Gogi gang. For this reason the police suspect gang war.
