Sanjay (43) of Rupdhanu village in Barhan police station area of ​​Agra committed suicide by hanging himself. The family of the deceased has accused the Kotwali Saadabad police of harassing him. The family says that the police had arrested Sanjay for luring a teenager and challaned him under section 151. Hurt by this, Sanjay committed suicide.

A person resident of Saadabad Kotwali area had given a complaint in the Kotwali on 25th May. In the complaint, Laxman and his sister Preeti, wife of Dinesh Singh, resident of Saadabad, were accused of luring away the daughter. After the case was registered, the police started searching for the girl. In this connection, the police picked up Sanjay Singh, resident of Roopdhanu village of Barhan police station area of ​​Agra district for questioning on 10th June. Sanjay is Laxman’s brother-in-law. On 11th June, Sanjay was challaned for disturbing the peace. The SDM court released Sanjay on bail. On the morning of 22nd June, his body was found hanging from a tree near the village.

Sanjay’s brother Pramod has alleged that his brother committed suicide by hanging himself after getting fed up with police harassment. On receiving the information, Agra’s Barhan police station reached the spot. The police tried to bring down the body from the tree, but the villagers created a ruckus demanding action against the inspector, sub-inspector and constable of Saadabad police station and did not allow the body to be brought down from the tree. On receiving the information, ASP Ashok Kumar and CO City Rampravesh Rai also reached from Hathras and talked to the family members.
