In village Malsai of Gangiri, at around 10 pm on May 3, a young man got electrocuted by the current of the high tension line flowing in the house while connecting the wire of the cooler and fan to the inverter. The family took the seriously burnt young man to the hospital but his life could not be saved. He got married only 16 days ago. Angered by the incident, family members and villagers created a ruckus on Saturday after the post-mortem by placing the dead body in the power house and then on the road. During this time there was some altercation with the police also.
25-year-old Mukesh Kumar, son of Omprakash, resident of village Malsai, was connecting the wires of the cooler and fan to the inverter on the night of 3 May. Meanwhile, due to fault, the wire of HT line broke and fell on the LT line below. Due to this, HT line current started flowing in the houses. Mukesh Kumar, who was connecting the wires, also got caught in the current of HT line.
The family immediately took him to a hospital in Chharra. From there he was taken to JN Medical College where the doctors declared him dead. After the post-mortem on May 4, at 3 o’clock in the day, family members and villagers kept the dead body at the power house and created a ruckus for an hour. Here he had a scuffle with the police. After this, the dead body was taken to Malsai and the Aligarh-Kasganj road was blocked for about 15 minutes. However, after the persuasion of some villagers, the jam was opened. Mukesh was the second among three brothers. They got married only 16 days ago. Due to his death the family members were in sad condition.
Similar accidents have happened many times
According to the residents of Malsai, the HT line is in a dilapidated condition. Many times in the past too, the HT line wire has broken and fallen on the LT line, due to which HT line current has flowed into the houses. In such incidents, within a year, Rajendra Singh son Ramratan, Pappu Singh son Bulaki Singh, Ramkali Devi wife Baburam, Bhura son Harnam Singh, Kishan son Raju got burnt due to electric current. According to the villagers, they reported the problem to the electricity department several times but the wires of the HT line were not changed.
