Taking a big step for the improvement and overall development of education in the country, the Central Government has decided to establish 100 new Sainik Schools. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced the plan on Wednesday during the 47th Annual Day celebrations of Vidyadhiraj Sainik School held in Alappuzha, Kerala. He described it as an important initiative towards revolutionizing the education sector of India and ensuring all-round development of children. This step of the government aims to provide quality education to remote areas and provide better opportunities to children of every section through Sainik Schools.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday described the Central Government’s plan to set up 100 new Sainik Schools across the country as a revolutionary step in the education sector. Inaugurating the 47th Annual Day celebrations of Vidyadhiraj Sainik School in Alappuzha, Kerala, the Defense Minister said that with the establishment of these Sainik Schools, major changes are expected in the field of education.

The Defense Minister also announced that now the facility for admission of girls in Sainik Schools has been provided. This will strengthen gender equality in the society and more and more girl students will be able to get education in these schools. He said that the aim of the government is to establish Sainik Schools in every district of the country, so that students from remote areas and from different cultural backgrounds can get the opportunity of excellent education.
Emphasis on developing soldier’s qualities in children
Emphasizing the importance of education, Rajnath Singh said that India is moving towards self-reliance and in such a situation, along with health, industry, defense and communication, improvement in education is also necessary. He said that there is a need for all-round development of children and revolution in the education sector, so that they can contribute better to the country in the future.

Praising the qualities like discipline, dedication and self-control of the soldiers, the Defense Minister said that it is important to develop these qualities in children. Citing examples of great personalities like Swami Vivekananda, Adi Shankaracharya and Raja Ravi Varma, he said that their contribution to social, cultural and religious reforms can also be seen as a kind of ‘battlefield’.
