This hospital is in the village of Bangor, west of Dechmont in West Lothian, Scotland. It is said to be a hospital more than a century old. This psychiatric hospital was opened in 1906 and was part of the Edinburgh War Hospital during the First World War, which later became a psychiatric hospital only.
The hospital was officially closed in 2004 when its last patients were sent away. The reason for its closure was that at the end of the 20th century, the methods of mental treatment throughout the UK were changed in such a way that this hospital was no longer capable of providing psychiatry.
