11 People Killed in Georgia: Eleven Indians have been found dead in a restaurant at a mountain resort in Gudauri in the former Soviet country Georgia. The Indian Mission has also confirmed this. According to preliminary reports, it has been found that these deaths were probably due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The Indian Mission in Georgia said in a statement on Monday (December 16, 2024) that the Indian Embassy in Tbilisi is saddened to learn about the unfortunate death of 11 Indians in Gudauri, Georgia and expresses its deepest condolences to their families.
The Indian Embassy in Tbilisi said it is working closely with local authorities so that the bodies can be brought back to India as soon as possible. He also said that he is in touch with the bereaved families and is committed to providing all possible assistance.
‘There were no marks of any kind on the body’
In this case, local media, citing the police, said that in the statement issued by the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs on December 14, it was said that there were no signs of violence or physical injury on the bodies of any of the dead. All the people died due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The bodies of those who died were found in the rest area on the second floor of the Indian restaurant, where all 12 people worked.
Investigation under murder by negligence continues
Regarding this matter, Georgia Police has started investigation under Article 116 (homicide by negligence) of the Criminal Code. According to preliminary investigation, a generator was kept in a closed space near his bedroom, which was switched on after the power failure on Friday, December 13.
Forensic investigation team formed to find out the exact cause of death
