’12 billion dollars come from Gulf countries every year and what are Pakistanis doing there?’, PAK expert expressed concern by mentioning India, Bangladesh and Nepal

Pak expert Qamar Cheema has expressed concern over the revelations about Pakistani citizens in various Gulf countries including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. He said that a large number of Pakistanis are settled in these countries, who send more than 12 billion dollars to their families in Pakistan every year. He said that due to the activities in which Pakistanis are involved in UAE and Saudi, these countries have now started paying more attention to the labor of Nepal, Bangladesh and India.

He said that the Gulf countries have reduced visas for Pakistanis. Then when people from our country do not get visas, Pakistanis cry that why are Indians, Bangladeshis and Nepalis being supported. He said, ‘Pakistanis say that these countries are our Muslim brothers but still they are not listening to us. Being a Muslim brother does not mean that you create problems in their lives and make their lives hell.’

Qamar Cheema said, ‘The question is that all the countries of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) kept raising the issue of Kashmir before Pakistan. Then they kept fulfilling our financial needs and gave jobs to Pakistanis, so more than 12 billion dollars are being sent by Pakistanis living there to their families here. If this much money does not come, then Pakistanis will know.’

Expert Qamar Cheema further said that every year 80 lakh people go abroad from Pakistan, out of which only 2-3 lakh return. 96 percent people go to the Gulf countries because Europe etc. do not give visas to Pakistanis. He said that the quota of Pakistanis in UAE has increased from 1.6 million to 1.8 million. Now what happens is that when Pakistanis go to Malaysia or anywhere else in the world, they slip.

He said, ’50 thousand Pakistanis slipped away in Iraq. What is this, is this moral degeneration, has the society gone bankrupt or have the economic conditions deteriorated so much that people are ready to flee. Indians with Indian passports have visa on arrival in 65 or 85 countries. Pakistanis have visa on arrival in perhaps 32 countries. People are not trusting the workforce of our country. If you look at Indians, they are educated and are not involved in any crime. Someone told me in France that the best labour is Nepali. Whatever work you tell them to do, they quietly keep doing it.’

Senate Standing Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Zeeshan Khanzada, in which it was said that Gulf countries are looking towards countries like Bangladesh for labour. The committee stressed that the government is ignoring it, whereas there is a lot of potential in this area. On this, Secretary of Ministry of Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development Dr. Arshad Mahmood gave information about the situation of Pakistanis in Gulf countries. He said that Pakistanis are involved in 50 percent of criminal incidents in UAE.

He said that recently the UAE has also expressed concern about the behavior of Pakistanis, which includes actions like making videos of women without their permission. He also said that in the era of modernization and advanced technology, the focus of Gulf countries has shifted from unskilled Pakistanis to other countries. The Senate Committee also said in September last year that there are many Pakistani beggars in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, who went there for religious pilgrimage. He said that most of them went to Saudi for Umrah and then got involved in activities like begging. The Saudi administration says that 90 percent of the beggars there are Pakistanis.
