AC Electricity Consumption: These days summer season is going on in India. People try various methods to escape the summer. Generally people like to go out of the house less during the summer season. But even inside the house the heat continues to prevail. To get relief from the heat, many people arrange for AC.
Different types of ACs from different companies are available in the market. But mostly people install 5 and 3 star rated ACs. The rating of AC is related to its power consumption. Today we will tell you that 5 star AC and 3 star AC are used for 5 years. So how much difference does it make in power consumption?
How many units of electricity do both consume?
If we talk about 1 ton 3 star AC, it consumes 524 watts of electricity in 1 hour. That is, if the AC is being run for 8 hours a day. So at the rate of 524 watts i.e. 0.524 kilowatt (kW) per hour, 4.192 kWh of electricity will be consumed in 8 hours. That is, 1 ton 3 star will consume 4.192 units of electricity in a day.
If we talk about a 1 ton 5 star AC, it consumes 450 watts of electricity in 1 hour. If calculated based on consumption of 8 hours a day, then consumption of 450 watts i.e. 0.524 kilowatt (kW) per hour will consume 3.6 units of electricity in 8 hours. That means a 1 ton 5 star AC will consume 0.59 units less electricity than a 3 star AC.
What will be the difference in electricity consumption after 5 years?
If we look at the consumption of 1 ton 5 star AC and 3 star AC after using it for 5 years, the 5 star AC will obviously consume less electricity. 3 star AC consumes 4.192 units of electricity in a day. According to which there are 1520.08 units in a year. And 7600.4 units in 5 years.
Now if we talk about 5 star AC, it consumes 3.6 units per day. According to this, 1314 units will be consumed in a year. So in 5 years it will be 6570 units. Which will be 1030.4 units less than the power consumption of 3 star AC.
5 star ac better
Based on the consumption of both the ACs, after 5 years of usage, 5 star AC will consume much less electricity as compared to 3 star. If you want to get energy efficient AC. So there can be no better option for you than 5 star AC. However, it will definitely cost you a little more than 3 star AC. But in this you will be able to save good electricity.
