The health of Saurabh Kumar Pandey (27), the only son of BJP leader Vimalchandra Pandey, resident of Padri Bazar in Deoria district, suddenly deteriorated in the night. He was vomiting. The family took Saurabh to the district hospital, where he died. Doctors expressed apprehension that Saurabh died due to heat stroke.

Similarly, Nirmala Devi (65), wife of Suresh Tiwari, resident of Bhikhampur Road, suddenly complained of breathlessness. The relatives reached with emergency. Injection was done, but he died after some time.

When Lachi Devi (70), who lives near the city’s Hanuman temple, reached the hospital at 8.50 am with her relatives, the doctors declared her dead. Vashishtha Dubey (78), a resident of Doghda, was admitted at around 9 am. He had fever and difficulty in breathing. After the treatment, the doctors referred him when he did not get relief. He died on the way while being taken to Gorakhpur Medical College.

Chandrika Singh (73), a resident of Pipra of Tarkulwa area, was declared brought dead by the family members when they reached the hospital at 9.45 am. Anand Mishra, a resident of Karaundi in Bhaluani, reached the hospital at 10.45 am with his mother Badmi Devi (65). He died during treatment. The relatives reached with Ramadhar, a resident of Rudrapur’s Khajuha. He died shortly after being admitted. Apart from these, most of the patients came who were declared dead on sight by the doctor outside the emergency. His relatives went home with the dead body. There is no record of them.
