Piyush Goyal: The next target of the Indian government is to become a 5 trillion dollar economy. Along with this, India is also moving ahead rapidly with the dream of becoming one of the top 3 economies of the world. However, now the Indian government has set a huge target of making the country developed as well as increasing the economy to 55 trillion dollars and per capita income to 33 lakh rupees. This task has to be completed by 2047, the 100th year of India’s independence.
Will become the world’s third largest economy in 3 years
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said in a program organized by ASSOCHAM that we want to make the country developed by 2047. For this, the economy will have to reach 55 trillion dollars. We will have to achieve this target by promoting defense, electric vehicles, manufacturing and technology. He said that India is going to become a 5 trillion dollar economy in 3 years. With this, we will become the third largest economy in the world. Only China and America’s economy will be bigger than ours. We will bring the rupee to a strong position by increasing exports from the country. India can also repeat China’s success story.
The government will have to work on many fronts simultaneously- IMF
In this program, the book ‘India@100’ by International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Director KV Subramanian was also unveiled. Subramanian said that a few years ago we were dreaming of becoming the 5th largest economy in the world. Today we want to become the third largest economy. For this, we will have to work on the front of social and economic equality. Along with this, ethical wealth creation and investment will have to be promoted in the country.
Growth rate will have to be 8% and inflation will have to be kept at 5%
IMF’s KV Subramanian said that we have to maintain a growth rate of 8 percent. Also, inflation should not be allowed to go above 5 percent. In this way, the economy will double every 4 years and we will achieve the target of 55 trillion dollars by 2047. Also, in the 100th year of independence, the per capita income in the country will also reach Rs 33 lakh.
