Copper coins of Mughal period have been found in the Samvilian Vidyalaya situated in village Kajrauthi of Saadabad. There is a discussion about this in the area. Block Education Officer Saadabad Alok Pratap Srivastava reached the school on 18th July. He got information about these coins. Students told that these coins were found when pits were being dug for planting saplings in the school ground. The number of these coins is 65. BEO has also informed SDM Saadabad about this.
Villagers say that earlier there was a very high mound here. There was an old building next to it. The villagers could not tell who built that building. A hospital was run in this building for some time. After this, this building turned into ruins. Villagers used to call it Khera. The high mound was leveled and a primary and pre-secondary school was built here. After this, these schools were converted into Samvilian schools. With time, other buildings were also constructed in the school.
Some coins were found while levelling the mound. It is important to know who has those coins at present. The children who found these coins while digging pits for plants returned them. These coins are said to be from the Mughal period. They were called Jeetal at that time. At that time the seal was made of gold. The rupee was made of silver and the coin was made of copper. Aurangzeb had issued coins by removing the picture on the coin and writing something in Urdu and Persian.
On the instructions of SDM, children have found 65 copper coins in Samvilian Vidyalaya Kajrauthi. These coins will be handed over to the administration. -Alok Pratap Srivastava, Block Education Officer, Sadabad
