Expansion
After the recent order of Allahabad High Court in the recruitment of 69000 teachers, the political allegations and counter-allegations have intensified regarding the share of reserved categories in government jobs. Meanwhile, citing statistics, the government has said that in the government recruitments done in the last seven and a half years, not only have the reservation rules been followed, but in most of the recruitments, the youth of reserved categories have been selected on unreserved seats due to their talent.
The share of OBC category in government jobs has also increased. On the other hand, there has been a lot of irregularities in the reservation of government jobs in the previous government. The government says that more than 18000 posts of Other Backward Classes were to be filled in the 69000 teacher recruitment. In comparison, more than 31000 candidates of this category were selected. In this, 18598 OBC candidates have been selected in OBC quota and 12630 OBC candidates have been selected in the unreserved category. More than 14000 posts were reserved for Scheduled Castes. Not only were the youth of SC category selected on these, but more than 1600 Scheduled Caste candidates were also selected in the unreserved category on the basis of merit as per the rules. The remaining more than 1100 vacant posts of Scheduled Tribes have been filled by Scheduled Caste candidates. In this way, more than 17000 SC candidates have been selected. In the recruitment, out of more than 34 thousand posts in the unreserved category, 20301 general category, 12630 other backward class, 1637 Scheduled Caste, 21 Scheduled Tribe candidates have been selected in the unreserved category.
Questions were raised on the recruitment of the commission in the previous government
According to the government, not only the rights of OBC category were violated in the recruitment process in the previous regime, but the rights of SC and ST category were also robbed. In the recruitment of Public Service Commission in 2015-2016, 56 out of 86 SDMs were selected from the same caste. During the tenure of the previous government (2012 to 2017), 26394 posts were filled through the Public Service Commission. In this, 13469 general posts, 6966 OBC posts, 5634 SC posts and 327 ST youth were selected. OBCs were only 26.38 percent in this. Whereas, in the BJP government, 46675 recruitments were made through the Public Service Selection Commission. In this, a total of 17929 OBC candidates were selected, whose percentage is 38.41. If the percentage of SC and ST is added to this, then more than 60 percent of the candidates of the reserved category have been selected by the Public Service Selection Commission.
More than 42 thousand people were recruited through Subordinate Services Selection Commission
A total of 42409 youth have been selected by the UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission from April 2017 to July 2024. Of these, 9992 are general category candidates. During the same period, a total of 2761 candidates from the economically weaker section category, a total of 19986 from the other backward class category, 8929 from SC and a total of 741 ST candidates have been selected.
Three months time in 69 thousand teacher recruitment is creating doubts: Akhilesh
SP President Akhilesh Yadav said through X that computer can prepare the complete list in 3 hours for honest appointment in 69000 teacher recruitment, but the three months time that the BJP government of UP is asking for is creating doubt. This is creating doubt among the candidates against the scam-ridden BJP government that by taking this matter to the Supreme Court, the anti-reservation BJP government might want to postpone it for the rest of its tenure. Akhilesh said that the biggest crisis of BJP is that the public has seen its real face and now the public has recognized the face and character of BJP.
