In Delhi’s Najafgarh, a student reached school with his father’s licensed pistol in his bag. The teachers came to know about it when he was showing the pistol to his friends. The mother told that after her husband’s death a few months ago, she had taken out the pistol to deposit it in the police station.

On Saturday, a 10 year old student of class 6 in Najafgarh’s Green Valley School reached school with his father’s licensed pistol in his bag. The teachers came to know about it when he was showing the pistol to his friends. After taking the pistol from the child, the school administration called the mother and informed the police. The mother told that after her husband’s death a few months ago, she had taken out the pistol to deposit it in the police station.

According to the police, the child’s father had died a few months ago. On Saturday, the mother had taken the pistol out of the cupboard to deposit it in the Baba Haridas Nagar storeroom. The child told that he had kept the pistol in the bag thinking it was a toy. There was no cartridge in the pistol. The police checked the license which was found to be correct. No cognizable offence was found in the case. The police have deposited the pistol in the storeroom of Baba Haridas Nagar police station.
