You will be surprised to know that Rukmani, who secured All India Rank-2 in the year 2011 UPSC exam, once failed in the 6th standard. After this failure, Rukmani’s self-confidence was so low that she was ashamed to go in front of her parents and teachers. Despite being an average student, Rukmani completed her school and college studies and fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS.

Often not every child is good in studies. Some children are also average. If the children of this category work a little more hard in life, then they become an example for the world. Rukmani Riar, a resident of Gurdaspur in Punjab, is also sometimes included in this category.
Rukmani was not a very good student during her schooling. She was average in studies, also failed in 6th standard. There was always this fear in my mind that what people would think. Slowly passed 12th class by winning over this fear.
She also reached Amritsar for further studies. Here he took admission in Guru Nanak Dev University and did his graduation in Social Science. Took admission in Mumbai’s Tata Institute as well and got post graduation degree as well as gold medal in his name.
Stayed in Mumbai for some time and did internship with Annapurna Mahila Mandal. Worked for some time with Shraddha Mahila Mandal of Mysore. He also served for some time in the Planning Commission and in the meantime, Rukmani’s trend shifted towards preparing for UPSC.
Till now Rukmani Riar’s self-confidence was becoming an example for others. She prepared hard for the UPSC exam and as a result, Rukmani Riar achieved success in the very first attempt.
In the year 2011, Rukmani Riar occupied UPSC All India Rank-2 and became IAS Rukmani Riar.
