At present, 7 pots of chaat and kanji-vada are creating a lot of buzz in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. People have become so crazy about their Kanji-Vadas that they are coming from far and wide to eat it.
Shop owner Sunil Kumar said that his shop has been here for 60-62 years. This work was started by his father. Since then his three generations have been doing this work. When asked about the use of seven matkis, he told that some of these have chutney, dumplings and some have Kanji-Vada and all this remains clean and cool in these matkis.
The specialty of Kanji-Vadas
Sunil Kumar told that Kanji-Vadas are made from moong dal at our shop. There are 4 pieces in one plate of Kanji-Vadas. Which are much bigger than the commonly found Kanji Vadas. The water of Kanji-Vadas is made from mustard seeds. In which sour chutney is also added. Coriander-mango chutney is also used in these Kanji-Vadas. Due to which their taste increases even more. They also claimed that digestion is also good with their Kanji-Vadas. Here you will get Kanji-Vada for Rs.60 and Bhalla Papdi for Rs.70.
Know the location and timing of the shop
To come here, you have to get down from the metro at Chandni Chowk metro station. Coming out of gate number 5, towards Bhagirath Palace, you will find this shop situated at the beach square. This shop remains closed on Sundays, rest of the days you can come here from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
