Officials said on Monday that about 80 students of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Ashram Paddhati Inter College in Mehruna village of the district fell ill due to food poisoning. They complained of stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea. They said that this incident happened after the children had dinner on Sunday night. District Magistrate Divya Mittal said in her interview that the condition of the students is stable and a full investigation of the incident is being done.

According to an official statement released on Monday evening, some students of the government school have been reported to have fallen ill due to food poisoning. Two students, Akash and Nitesh, are being treated at Maharishi Devraha Baba Medical College. The remaining students are being treated at the school itself by a team of doctors led by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Symptoms of food poisoning

If you feel severe stomach pain after eating anything, vomiting-diarrhea every half hour, indigestion, headache, excessive fatigue and weakness, then these can be symptoms of food poisoning. Although this can happen at any age, but this problem is more common in children. If after eating something bad, there is vomiting and diarrhea along with fever, blood in the stool, repeated vomiting and only water comes out, dry mouth, rashes on the body, if such problems persist for more than three days, then you should immediately go to the doctor.

If you want to avoid food poisoning, keep these things in mind: Keep the place where you eat and the place where you keep the utensils clean. Spices and grains have the highest risk of fungus. Always keep namkeen and biscuits in the box. Use packed food only after checking its expiry date. Especially during the rainy season, if you are eating anything outside, take special care. Eat food only at a clean place.
