900 km in 54 hours! Will travel without stopping, amazing story of Dak Kanwad Yatra


Indore: With the onset of the month of Sawan, Kanwar Yatras have also begun. This sight of Kanwariyas has become common across the country. Every day devotees are leaving for Ujjain after collecting Narmada water from Maheshwar and Omkareshwar, where they will perform Jalabhishek of Baba Mahakal. More than 25 major Kanwar Yatras will start from different areas in Indore. Dak Kanwar Yatra will also start with different Kanwar Yatras. Various organizations and institutions have completed preparations for the Yatra in Indore. The special thing is that on the lines of Amarnath Yatra, people associated with different groups have made arrangements for tea, breakfast and food on the Omkareshwar to Indore, Maheshwar to Indore and Indore to Ujjain route. This langar service will continue throughout the month of Shravan.

Will cover a distance of 900 km in 54 hours
Sitaram Superfast Dak Kanwad Yatra will depart from Dwarkadhish Temple Gujarat to Indore on 4th August. The Kanwad pilgrims will complete the 900 km journey in 54 hours. They will come to Indore and perform Jalabhishek at Ram-Rameshwar Temple located in Scheme-78. This is the 10th year of this yatra. The specialty of Dak Kanwad Yatra is that the Kanwad pilgrims will come to Indore running in turns without stopping. Before this, 200 pilgrims will leave for Gujarat from Indore on 2nd August.

Indore’s special Kavad Yatra
Baneshwari Kanwar Yatra started from Maheshwar and reached Mhow on Wednesday. The pilgrims will leave for Ujjain from Indore on Friday. On the second Monday of Shravan, the devotees will perform Jalabhishek of Baba Mahakal. Devotees of Nandishwar Kanwar Yatra performed Jalabhishek of Baba Mahakal on the first Monday of Shravan. All the people reached Mahakal by leaving from Scheme-78. People associated with a group from Indore will complete the Kanwar Yatra in a single day. These devotees will leave from Indore by vehicles on the third Sunday and reach Ujjain. They will perform Baba’s Abhishek there.

Kanwar Yatra on 28th July
Jai Mahesh Kanwar Yatra will be taken out from Mukut Mangalik Bhawan located in Gumasta Nagar on 28th July. More than 1500 devotees will participate in it. The Yatra will travel to different areas and reach the Shiv temple located in Gumasta Nagar. Here the Lord will be anointed with water. Prayers will also be offered for good rain. Prakash Sharda Ajmera, founder president of Maheshwari Kutumb, said that the Yatra will start at 9.30 am after the Kanwar Puja and Aarti at 9 am.

More than 30 platforms will be set up on the route of this 5 km long Kanwar Yatra. In this, the delegations of 9 areas of Maheshwari Samaj will welcome them by showering flowers. In the Yatra, the community members will pull the chariot of Lord Shiva. The Yatra will travel to Gumasta Nagar Temple via Narendra Tiwari Marg, Annapurna Road, Axis Bank, Usha Nagar, Ranjit Hanuman, Nakoda Chowk, Vaishnav Kanya.
