A couple committed suicide in Thakurganj area of the capital Lucknow. It is being told that the wife was undergoing treatment for the last six years due to which she was suffering from depression.

Monica (47), a resident of Balaganj, Thakurganj, capital Lucknow, dissolved a tablet of sulfas in water and drank it on Thursday night. When husband Amit Arya (43) reached home and saw his wife’s condition, he also consumed sulfas.

When this did not work, he closed the door of the room from inside and hanged himself. When Amit’s brother-in-law reached home on Friday morning, he found the door closed. When he did not get any response after calling out, he peeped through the window and saw the situation inside. With the help of local people, they broke the door and entered the room and informed the police.
The relatives of the deceased told the police who reached the spot that Monica’s kidneys were bad. He was undergoing treatment for the last six years. There was a lot of swelling in the body of the deceased. She used to live in depression due to illness.
